These are stories from some widows who lost their husbands during religious riots in the northern parts of the Nigeria


TALATU MATHIAS: She lost her husband during the Kano 2004 riot. The husband was burnt (click here to see picture), left with six children, four of which are at Stephen Centre Schools (Joseph, Monday, Deborah and Aliheri Mathias). VCM Nigeria paid for apartment for her from where she now attends the sewing institute at one of the SCI center . Her instructor said she is doing very well with her sewing training, and learning very fast. She said she is using this time to say a big thank you to Voice of the Christian Martyrs and friends. May the Lord continue to bestow his blessings upon you all.


ASABE LAWAL: She lost her husband during 2000 Kaduna riot, she was left with three children of which one (Yakubu Lawal) is at Stephen Centre International Abeokuta. She is doing very well with her sewing training at the Kaduna Training Sewing Centre.


SARAH JOHN: She has two children Denis and Elizabeth at Stephen Centre International Abeokuta, out of seven of them. Her husband was killed during the Kaduna 2000 riot.


MATINA BITRUS: Her husband who was a police officer well recognized in the church was burnt to ashes during the Kaduna 2000 riot. She was left with three children. Adua and Alhamudu are in Abeokuta having their education. She gives a very thank to the Organisation both in Nigeria and Overseas.


HAJARA MOGAJI: She lost eight member of her family in one riot including her husband during the Kaduna February 22, 2000 riot. She was left with two children Benjamin and Sarah. Benjamin is in Abeokuta while Sarah is with her. She is now able to handle the sewing machine well. She give thank to the organization for standing with her. She prayed that the Lord continue to bless V OM all over the world.


JUMMAI TANKO: She lost her husband also during the Kaduna 2000 riot. She was left with three children. Ibrahim and Ismaila Tanko are among Nigeria Special Children attending Stephen Centre Int. Abeokuta.
